Monday at Politico’s “Playbook Lunch,” Lynne Cheney mocked former first lady Hillary Clinton for her now-infamous “dead broke” comment.

The wife of former Vice President Dick Cheney was referring to last month’s interview during Clinton’s “Hard Choices” book tour when she told ABC News’ Diane Sawyer that she and Bill were “dead broke” when they left the White House.

“When Dick was asked to be vice president, he thought that was a great idea,” she said. “I was not so sure. You know, give up your job, give up your house and move. We weren’t dead broke, excuse me.”
