Tuesday on Newsmax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show,” Rep Paul Ryan (R-WI) said Burger King moving its headquarters to Canada, in part for relief from the high U.S. corporate tax rate, has no choice because it is a public company and would face a takeover from investors who would make the move.

Ryan said, “We are quickly losing American iconic brands because of our tax system.”

“You need to get our tax system competitive,” he said. “We are taxing these companies overseas … These companies are either going to this or get taken over by from companies these are public companies.”
