Sunday, on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said it is immoral for President Obama to arm and train the Free Syrian Army without first taking out Bashar al-Assad’s air power, because doing so will lead to the Free Syrian Army’s slaughter.

Graham said, “I can tell you is, the job of the Commander in Chief is to protect the country, the job of House members and senators is protect the country, and I think most Americans understand if we don’t destroy ISIS, if they survive our best shot, we are all less safe and at the end of the day you cannot destroy ISIS without a ground component.”

“What we’re doing with the Free Syrian Army is militarily unsound. To train these young men up in Saudi Arabia without first establishing a no fly zone. Taking air strikes off the table will lead to their slaughter. It is immoral,” he added.
