Wednesday at the Aspen Institute’s “Washington Ideas Forum,” outgoing Attorney General Eric H. Holder refused to back off his infamous 2009 comments calling America a “nation of cowards” when it comes to dealing with racial issues.

When asked by The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart if he still thinks we are a nation of cowards Holder said, “I have been criticized a great deal for the use of that language and I’ve never backed off the use of that language,” he added until there is an ongoing national action on race instead of episodic responses to news events, “We are going to continue to face these kinds of problems.”
