NBC News Political Director and Host of “Meet the Press,” Chuck Todd predicted that there will not be a government shutdown in part because “[Speaker] John Boehner (R-OH) has got more control of this conference than ever before” on Friday’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on MSNBC.

After guest host Luke Russert remarked, “aside from some poison pills or some riders that could come up this weekend, which both sides say they don’t really want to do. It seems to me that this funding bill will go forward and they should be OK avert a government shutdown right after the GOP took power, Todd responded “it does look like John Boehner has got more control of this conference than ever before. And that he’s got as much influence, if not more influence even with the conservative wing than [Sen.] Ted Cruz (R-TX) does. And that whatever some predicted post-immigration fallout and the decision that the president made, it’s just not there. There just doesn’t seem to be the stomach for it.”

Todd and Russert concluded by predicting that there would be a CR/omnibus hybrid that funded the government for a year with the exception of Homeland Security.
