Fordham University Associate Professor and author Dr. Christina Greer argued that Loretta Lynch “represents a certain level of black excellence that is extremely threatening to a lot of members of Congress” on Saturday’s “Melissa Harris-Perry” on MSNBC.

After saying she also wants the discussion over Lynch’s confirmation to include gender as well, Greer stated “I think that many people don’t understand the significance of uplift, perseverance, scholarship, friendship, sort of a global network of black people, successful black people, that will not only take care of each other, but their children, their grandchildren, all these things. And so I think she represents a certain level of black excellence that is extremely threatening to a lot of members of Congress, quite honestly.”
