TEL AVIV  – Former NBA star Nate Robinson’s TV interview was interrupted when a shirtless bicyclist approached the basketball player to challenge him to a game of one-on-one.

Robinson, who forwent both his NBA and NFL dreams to play basketball for the Israeli team Hapoel Tel Aviv, took the disruption in stride, and roared with laughter at his challenger’s warning that he would “kick his ass, baby.” See what happens below:

“That’s an interview! That’s awesome. That’s the first time ever someone has done that, it’s sick. So cool. The fans are great, how could someone be mad at that?” Robinson quipped.

Breitbart Jerusalem managed to track down the shirtless showman. It turns out that the hardy heckler was actually an Israeli division two basketball player, Raz Nisim Cohen.

Cohen said he was in shock at how much attention the story has been getting, having been picked up by most major news outlets in the U.S.

“I knew the incident would create buzz in Israel, but I never thought people would react like that overseas,” he told Breitbart Jerusalem, noting that his phone hasn’t stopped ringing since the event.

It wasn’t the first time the Israeli challenged famous players to a round of street ball. Last year he called on former NBL player Donta Smith to compete with him for a bet of $5,000, repeatedly referring to Smith, who now plays for Hapoel Jerusalem, as a motherf**ker.

Cohen said that Robinson accepted his challenge to play one-on-one, but it would have to wait until his contract with the Israeli basketball team is over.

“Whoever loses will give $10,000 to a cancer charity,” he said.

And does he really think he can kick Robinson’s ass?

“Yeah, for sure,” he answered. “I’m strong and athletic, no less than him.”

“I’ll be happy for the whole world to see it,” he added.
