Thursday on NewsmaxTV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show,” former Nixon and Reagan aide and conservative commentator Pat Buchanan said Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump faces a “rough” test in Wisconsin’s GOP primary Tuesday, because losing could “halt”  Trump’s momentum while a win could give him the nomination.

Given Gov. Scott Walker’s endorsement of Cruz, local conservative radio hosts being against him and the large amount of anti-Trump super PAC ads running, Buchanan explained, “This is a very rough test for Trump. I think if he loses it he still can easily win the nomination but he’s really going to have to start running the table completely. If he loses this, and this would really I think blunt and halt the momentum he has built up.”

When asked what the result would be if Trump won Wisconsin, Buchanan said, “I think Trump is the nominee.”
