During MSNBC’s coverage of the RNC on Tuesday, National Journal Senior Political Columnist Ron Fournier said, “The prosecution of Hillary Clinton has already been conducted, and she’s been found guilty by the American public.”

Fournier began by saying that “middle of the road voters” don’t want to her an audience chanting for Clinton to be sent to prison or that she’s guilty, and that doing so is like something out of a “banana republic.”

Fournier then stated that people are voting based on who they dislike more, not based on aspiration. He further stated that he doesn’t think Clinton’s trustworthiness numbers can’t get any worse, but that it does help Trump to attack Clinton.

He then stated, “The prosecution of Hillary Clinton has already been conducted, and she’s been found guilty by the American public.”

Fournier continued that the Clinton campaign has to try to make Trump seem worse, which he currently is seen as.

Fournier concluded that it was smart to spend the night going after Clinton, for the same reason it will be smart for Clinton to attack Trump.
