During the Friday broadcast of “Speak for Yourself” on Fox Sports 1, co-host Jason Whitlock weighed in on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s decision to not stand during the pre-game national anthem as a form of protest.

Because Kaepernick is biracial and was raised in a white household, Whitlock said Kaepernick should be uniting people rather than dividing them with his actions.

“Given his mixed race, given the face that he was raised by a white family, Kaepernick should be a uniter not a divider. He should be able to see things from both sides. And so, I would like to see him pivot towards a message that is less divisive and more inclusive of bringing everyone to the table,” Whitlock explained.
