On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that he wanted to eliminate “the big celebration of militarism. The flyovers of the jets and all that bullsh*t.” from sports
Maher said, “You know what I don’t like about sport events? I don’t like the big celebration of militarism. The flyovers of the jets and all that bullsh*t. I’m trying to just watch a game. I don’t want to be reminded of all that. And by the way, those jets, most of them are not needed, that’s not about defense, that’s about defense contractors. It actually makes us weaker, not stronger. So, why don’t we leave it out of sports altogether?”
