On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) reacted the announcement that Representative Mike Pompeo (R-KS) is President-Elect Donald Trump’s pick for CIA Director by praising Pompeo as “bright,” “very capable,” a person who understands the CIA, and who is “hard-working.”

Schiff, who serves with Pompeo on the House Permanent Select Committe on Intelligence, said, “I think Mike is a very bright guy. He’s hard working. I think he understands the agency very well. So, he’s a solid pick. Now, Mike can be very partisan, as you saw in the Benghazi hearings, and he’ll have to set that aside. But I’m confident that he can do that. And I think he’s a very capable choice. So, of the three that came out today, I think he was the most solid pick.”

Schiff added that he has “a lot of reservations” about Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Michael Flynn as National Security Adviser.
