Friday in a preview clip of an interview for Sunday’s broadcast of NBC’s “Meet The Press,” newly elected Minority Leader of the U.S. Senate Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) after first discussing the vetting process for Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), who has been offered the post of attorney general, mistakenly said President-elect Trump’s pick for National Security Adviser, retired United States Army lieutenant general and former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency Michael Flynn will get “a very thorough vetting.”

Host Chuck Todd pointed out the National Security Adviser is appointed by the President and requires no Senate confirmation.
