MSNBC “AM Joy” host Joy Reid asked Saturday if the lack of political reaction to President Donald Trump’s actions is because he has an autocracy, reasoning that he “can get away with literally anything.”
“There seems to be nothing so outrageous that it causes a reaction, a political reaction,” Reid stated. “Are we seeing you talk about autocracy, isn’t this the essence of it — the leader can get away with literally anything?”
Guest and journalist Sarah Kendzior responded, “Yeah, and they’re very brazen about it. They’re blatant about it on purpose. And that’s to instill a sense of helplessness in the population.”
