On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA), the Ranking Member on the House Intelligence Committee, stated that President Trump telling the Justice Department to lift a gag order on an informant so they can speak to Congress on Uranium One is the kind of thing a “tin pot regime” does.

Schiff said that it can be quickly determined if Hillary Clinton interfered in the Uranium One deal, “if you’re operating in good faith.”

After citing the Benghazi investigation as a politically-motivated investigation, Schiff added, “So, wow we’re going to embark on a potentially endless investigation to prove that Hillary Clinton interfered in this CFIUS process, the process of approving or denying a deal, when there’s no evidence that she did. And here’s the thing that really concerns me, Joe, there are reports within the last 24 hours that the president weighed in with the Justice Department and said, ‘Lift the gag order,’ — in other words, let’s let this informant speak, let’s push this investigation forward. That’s the kind of thing you do in a tin pot regime that is on the road to democracy, you punish the losing political candidate by interfering in the justice system. And that looks like what’s going on here. That will need to be investigated.”
