On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Your World,” House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) criticized calls to abolish ICE and stated that the organization is an “absolutely” necessary one.

Hoyer said, “Some suggested eliminating ICE as an organization. I was not for that. The speaker was not for that. Clearly, we’re going to have immigrants. We’re going to have customs. We need enforcement.”

He added, “It’s like the IRS. It’s an absolutely essential agency, as IRS is an essential agency.”

Hoyer further stated that calling for ICE to be abolished “goes too far.”
