During a Friday appearance on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban sounded off on the coronavirus and its effect on the stock market.

Cuban voiced his concern with the uncertainty of the effects on the economy and on everybody’s health, calling it a “black swan event.”

“I’m worried, there’s no question about it, because his is a black swan event,” Cuban stated. “It’s complete uncertainty. We don’t know how this will play out. We have a decent idea, but you know what, you know, we have a lot of smart people, a lot of scientists working on this, a lot of healthcare officials that are working on this, and the best we can do is try to take care of ourselves, try to take care of our communities and families and recognize these are different times. When you experience something this unique, you really have to rally around your community because it truly is different and we can’t predict exactly what’s going to happen.”

Cuban added that while the stock market has taken a hit, it has only dropped to the same level as it was in 2018.

“It’s really only taken us back to December 2018, so it doesn’t help pay the bills, but it gave me some comfort,” he added.
