Nicki Minaj arrived at last night’s Grammy Awards accompanied by a man dressed up like the Pope. But the singer’s subsequent performance was anything but spiritual.

Minaj performed a faux exorcism and used the altar boy characters on stage in a lewd fashion. That was more than enough for theCatholic League to blast both Minaj and the Grammy producers for including the segment in the show.

Minaj performed her new single “Roman Holiday,” with scenes of a confessional and an exorcism – complete with Minaj floating horizontally – amid dancing choir boys and monks.

“Perhaps the most vulgar part was the sexual statement that showed a scantily clad female dancer stretching backwards while an altar boy knelt between her legs in prayer,” Catholic League president Bill Donohue said in a news release.

Donohue also blasted the Recording Academy, saying they would never allow an artist to insult Judaism or Islam.
