Call it a case of “Cat Scratch Fever” run amok.

Fiercely conservative rocker Ted Nugent rhetorically blasted President Obama this week, calling his administration “vile,” “evil” and “anti-American.” And he was just getting warmed up.

Now, the Democratic National Committee wants GOP presidential front runner Mitt Romney to repudiate Nugent’s remarks, as if the former Damn Yankees singer had visited the White House 35 times.

UPDATE: The Secret Service is investigating Nugent’s comments.
