Jon Stewart finds lots of things funny in today’s headlines – like the leader of Israel pleading with the civilized world to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
That’s comedy gold, right?
Stewart probably looks at the above clip and marvels at its balance. After all, the show smacks around President Barack Obama, Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad before wrapping it all up with jokes about Netanyahu’s bomb graphic.
Why not have a little fun at Netanyahu’s expense?
Well, because Netanyahu’s country faces a very real threat of extinction, that’s why. Ahmadinejad routinely calls for the elimination of the Jewish state, and while the world’s most powerful countries sit on their hands, Iranian scientists keep getting closer to the country’s first nuclear weapon.
Boy, these jokes just write themselves.
