Squeaky clean stand-up Jim Gaffigan might be the least offensive comic on the comedy circuit. He’s hilarious all the same, but an innocent tweet he made about women’s nails drew the kind of social media hate usually reserved for shock comics.
On the Outrage-o-Meter it barely moves the needle. Or so one would think. The tweet inspired an avalanche of ugly comments via Twitter and Tumblr.
It forced Gaffigan to cough up an apology, assuming his tongue wasn’t inserted directly into his cheek.
Gaffigan will surely think twice before writing his next joke, the exact kind of chilling effect fellow comic Lisa Lampanelli warned us about earlier this week.
