Could Miley Cyrus be crowned Time magazine’s Person of the Year?

It’s doubtful the magazine would choose the tongue-wagging singer over far more worthy candidates who had a real impact in the culture. The magazine’s online poll, where readers get the chance to weigh in on the subject, is another matter.

Cyrus is currently crushing her competition as of Wednesday 7 p.m. EST. Cyrus leads the pack with 29.1 percent of the poll, while her closest competition, Narendra Modi (Chief Minister of the Indian state of Gujarat), only has 12.1 percent.

Perhaps readers no longer take the Time magazine honor seriously, or fans of the sexually explicit singer care deeply about the title.
