Seth Meyers is following in Jimmy Fallon’s footsteps in more ways than one.

Meyers will be replacing Fallon as host of NBC’s Late Night franchise later this month. The Saturday Night Live alums have something else in common. Both are debuting their new talk shows with help from the Obama administration.

Fallon will welcome First Lady Michelle Obama when The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon debuts after the Winter Olympics wrap.

Meyers, in turn, will invite Vice President Joe Biden onto his new show’s couch for its debut episode Feb. 24.

SNL, which until recently featured Meyers as a head writer, has been particularly kind to President Barack Obama over the past five-plus years. Fallon, in turn, allowed Obama to “slow jam” the news during an election season.
