Miss America, Kira Kazantsev, was allegedly kicked out of her Long Island sorority last year for abusive hazing, according to a source who tipped off Jezebel.

The beauty queen was reportedly expelled from Hofstra University’s Alpha Phi sorority for criticizing pledges for their imperfections and punishing them with difficult tasks to the point of exhaustion.

One of Kazantsev’s former classmates told Jezebel that in order to be inducted into the sisterhood, the pledges had to remove their underwear and sit on newspapers while their senior members made them watch lesbian porn together.

To make matters worse for the girls, the girls allegedly would be called a “dyke” and thrown out of the house if the newspapers stuck to their bodies after the video was over. The remaining girls were then reportedly forced to perform oral sex on their “big sisters”, said the source.

Another form of hazing allegedly required the pledges to eat cat food until they puked. They were then forced to eat their “sisters” throw up. Miss America was eventually reported and thrown out of the sisterhood for “dirty pledging.”

A spokesperson from the Miss America Pageant responded with this statement to the allegations against the newly crowned Miss America.

Kira has been fully transparent with the MissAmerica Organization about her termination from the Alpha Phi sorority. It’s unfortunate that this incident has been exploited to create a storyline that distracts from what we should be focusing on: Kira’s impressive academic achievements at Hofstra University, including earning a triple major from the Honors College and her commitment to serving her community. Kira is an exceptional ambassador for the MissAmerica Organization, and we are excited to be a part of her journey as a force for good across our nation, promoting education and service and working to empower young women.

This isn’t the first time Kazantsev has found herself in the middle of controversy. A few days after the Miss America pageant, it was revealed that she had once participated in a three month internship at planned parenthood.

Chairman and CEO Sam Haskell for the Miss America Organization immediately jumped to her defense.

“Each Miss America takes a different path to the crown and Kira’s path is no less special,” he explained. “In choosing a Miss America, the judges seek a well rounded young woman who has the life experiences to be an effective role model.”

Social media users seem to think that America could withstand a better role model.
