While a feud between the outspoken founders of Dolce & Gabbana and singer Elton John continues to heat up, Madonna took to Instagram Wednesday to show support for children conceived through in vitro fertilization.

Iconic gay business partners Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who previously came out against gay marriage, told Panorama Magazine last week: “We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one. No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.”

Mr. Dolce continued to state: “I call children of chemistry, synthetic children.”

Elton John, who has two children through the IVF process, then called for a boycott of the fashion duo’s products and was soon joined by celebrities Ryan Murphy, Courtney Love, Ricky Martin and Al Roker, among others.

A former model for the brand, Madonna joined the discussion Wednesday but stopped short of calling for a boycott.

“All babies contain a soul however they come to this earth and their families,” she said on the social media site. “There is nothing synthetic about a soul!! So how can we dismiss IVF and surrogacy? Every soul comes to us to teach us a lesson. God has his hand in everything, even technology! We are arrogant to think Man does anything on his own.”

She finished: “As above so below! Think before you speak.”
