During an interview in France, pop singer Justin Bieber said if he were president, the first thing he would do is “fix some of the gun laws” in America because, in Canada, “[they] don’t really have any guns, and there’s not gun violence.”

Beiber somehow overlooked the October 22 attack in which a recent Islamic convert named Michael Zehif-Bibeau shot and killed a Canadian Forces reservist then ran into Parliament Hill with rifle in hand, prior to being killed by Sergeant-At-Arms Kevin Vickers. He also overlooked the more recent September 3 shooting which CTV Montreal News reports left a 22-year-old dead in a car and police searching for suspect; and he also missed the shooting which the Montreal Gazette says left a 25-year-old Montreal North man dead in the early morning hours of September 13.

Yet according to Clique, if Bieber was the president, the first thing he would do is “fix some of the gun laws” because Americans keep buying guns with the belief that they are “for protection and stuff.”

Bieber intimated that even when guns are bought for the right reason, they “always ends up in some bozo’s hands.”

Earlier in the interview, Bieber said he has gotten to a point where he does not let negative statements about his person or behavior bother him. He said his “style and [his] brand [have] shifted culture a little bit.” He added, “My influence has been really big.”
