On Tuesday, Google announced a donation-matching campaign to raise $11 million for humanitarian organizations aiding refugees arriving in Europe from areas including the Middle East, Africa and Afghanistan.

Google promised to match the first $5.5 million in donations, which will initially be deposited with Donations for Good and then distributed to Doctors Without Borders, International Rescue Committee, Save the Children and UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

According to the United Nations Refugee Agency, over 410,000 refugees and migrants have emigrated to Europe from the Middle East, Africa and Afghanistan.

Last week, Google donated over $1 million to the refugee relief effort.
