An Afghan solider turned his gun on American troops yesterday at a checkpoint in eastern Afghanistan. The soldier killed two Americans and three Afghan soldiers in the vicinity of the U.S. troops.

One of the Americans was a member of the U.S. military; the other was an American civilian.

Reports indicated that the shooting was the result of some type of disagreement between the Afghan soldier and the two Americans working at a joint U.S.-Afghan base in the Wardak Province.

NATO announced the attack Sunday morning, and would only said it was an “insider attack.”  This means Afghan soldiers and policeman have killed more than 50 Americans in green on blue attacks during 2012 alone.
