On Wednesday, Secretary of State John Kerry met with the Senate Banking Committee alongside Vice President Joe Biden to push against strengthening sanctions on Iran. Members of both parties expressed incredulity about the administration’s case, but Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) went further. “It was fairly anti-Israeli,” he said after being briefed by the administration high officials. ‘I was supposed to disbelieve everything the Israelis had just told me, and I think the Israelis probably have a pretty good intelligence service.” According to the Israelis, the proposed Senate action would push back the Iranian program by 24 days.

Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) said that he was “very disappointed in the presentation,” and said that the administration refused to give any sort of timetable on Iran. Instead, he said, the administration made an “emotional appeal.”

National Security Adviser Susan Rice said that Israeli opposition to the Iran deal was due to Israeli ignorance: “it’s not done, so by definition, it’s premature to judge it because the outlines have yet to be finalized.”

The Obama administration has routinely stood against Israel, from forcing Israel to apologize to the Turkish regime for stopping a terror flotilla aimed at the Gaza Strip, to leaking classified information about an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities repeatedly.
