Three U.S. Soldiers and a civilian were killed in “an aircraft mishap” in Afghanistan, according to military officials.

There is no indication that enemy fire was involved, a defense official told ABC News.

“International Security Assistance Force [ISAF] service members and one ISAF civilian died following an aircraft mishap in eastern Afghanistan today,” the U.S./NATO-led coalition stated last night.

ABC News noted that an ISAF spokesperson has “confirmed” that “enemy action” was involved in the Blackhawk helicopter crash on December 17 that killed six U.S. service members.

Initially, defense officials denied enemy fire involvement in bringing that aircraft down.
