President-elect Donald Trump directly addressed the nation of China with his Twitter account Saturday, as he spent the weekend watching the news about China stealing an underwater drone belonging to the United States.
On Saturday morning, Trump noted that the drone was seized in international waters, calling it an “unprecedented act.”
The tweet first spelled “unprecedented” as “unpresidented,” which became a trending topic on the social media platform after users mocked the typo. Trump deleted and re-posted the message with proper spelling.
Later on Saturday, China announced that they would return the drone, prompting another reaction from Trump on Twitter.
“We should tell China that we don’t want the drone they stole back.- let them keep it!” he wrote.
