Annapolis (United States) (AFP) – The gunman who carried out Thursday’s mass shooting at a newspaper office in Annapolis, Maryland, wanted to “kill as many people as he could kill,” police said Friday.

In a briefing a day after the shooting left five newspaper employees dead, Chief Timothy Altomare of Anne Arundel County said the suspect — whose name he refused to utter — had used a pump-action shotgun purchased legally “a year or so ago.”
