CHICAGO, July 2 (UPI) — Prolific point guard Rajon Rondo met with the Chicago Bulls Friday.

The free agent averaged 11.9 points and led the NBA in assists last season with the Sacramento Kings.

Rondo, 30, and Miami Heat veteran Dwyane Wade are “in the mix” for the Bulls, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

“His athleticism manifests itself in his perennial landing among the league’s steals leaders,” Johnson wrote of Rondo. “But he clashed with coach Rick Carlisle during his one season with the Mavericks, which raises questions on how Fred Hoiberg would handle him.”

Rondo is a four-time All-Star and could make a dynamite duo with Jimmy Butler.

Rondo is also “open minded” about a return to Sacramento, according to ESPN. But several reports noted Friday that the Kings did not intend to re-sign him.
