Ankara (AFP) – The European Union on Wednesday expressed hope that Kurdish leader Selahattin Demirtas, who has been held for two years on terror charges, would be freed soon.
“We hope he will be released shortly,” the EU’s top diplomat Federica Mogherini told a news conference in Ankara with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
