March 30 (UPI) — John Cena will be returning to WWE to host the company’s biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 42.

Cena made the announcement on X Monday alongside a video of himself on the set of his next film, Netflix’s One Attempt Remaining.

“Since retirement, my ‘road’ has looked a little different… but now I can officially say I’m headed to WrestleMania!!!! See you in Las Vegas!” Cena said.

Cena is returning to WWE after he retired from in-ring competition following his lost to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December.

Cena was a 17-time world champion during his time in WWE. WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18 and April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
