May 1 (UPI) — Kacey Musgraves is back with new music.

The singer-songwriter, 37, released her seventh studio album, Middle of Nowhere, on Friday.

Middle of Nowhere marks Musgraves’ first new album in over two years, since Deeper Well in 2024.

The new album features the singles “Dry Spell” and “Middle of Nowhere,” along with 11 other songs. Miranda Lambert joins Musgraves for “Horses and Divorces,” while Willie Nelson is featured on “Uncertain, TX.”

“I wrote these in the throes of Deeper Well,” Musgraves said of the songs in an interview with Texas Monthly. “I was going through a really ridiculous breakup.”

“I needed to step back and reevaluate things,” she added, “to hang in the discomfort of an undefined time period between knowing what to do next.”

Musgraves will promote Middle of Nowhere with a new North American tour that kicks off Aug. 21 in Chicago.
