MEMPHIS, July 2 (UPI) — Justin Timberlake’s recruiting pitch certainly didn’t hurt the situation.

The Memphis Grizzlies used the singer/actor in its recruiting pitch to bring back its star guard. On Friday, the team and Conley agreed to a five-year, $153 million deal, according to Marc Stein.

Conley’s contract is the richest in NBA history. The Dallas Mavericks were rumored to be finalists for Conley’s services. Memphis also brought in Chandler Parsons with a four-year, $98.5 million deal.

Last week, Timberlake helped to produce a video, complete with an orchestra, calling for Conley’s return.
