BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Dec. 17 (UPI) — A viral video shows a mother of a Minnesota private school student bouncing in a half court shot to win $4,000 towards her daughters tuition.
Angela Ramey shouted with excitement seconds after lowering her head in defeat while attempting a half-court shot at a Bethany Academy basketball game in Bloomington. The underhanded shot initially fell short before bouncing into the basket, winning Ramey half off her daughter’s $8,000 tuition.
“She’s jumping amid 41,040 meals packed by 235 students during Friday’s ‘Bethany Loves Bloomington’ meal packing event Friday, a service project undertaken to help feed the hungry in Bloomington and the surrounding communities,” the Facebook post read.
Ramey won the chance to attempt three half-court shots after she and her daughter raised $1,200 for Kids Against Hunger, more than any other student.
“People just feel joy when they see this,” Head of School Bruce Madea told the Star Tribune.
