May 31 (UPI) — Beloved singer-songwriter Peabo Bryson is under medical care after suffering from a stroke.

“At this time, the family requests privacy as they navigate this deeply personal moment together,” Bryson’s representative said in a statement Sunday. “The thoughts, prayers and love of friends and fans are welcomed and deeply appreciated.”

No further details about when the Grammy winner fell ill and how he is doing now were immediately released.

Bryson, 75, is best known for his songs “Beauty and the Beast,” “A Whole New World,” “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love,” “If Ever You’re in My Arms Again” and “You’re Looking Like Love to Me.”
