London (AFP) – British brewer SABMiller’s shareholders on Wednesday approved a mega-takeover by rival Anheuser-Busch InBev, clearing the way for the creation of the world’s biggest beer company.

The news came hours after investors in AB InBev, the Belgian-Brazilian maker of Budweiser and Stella Artois, also backed the $104-billion (93-billion-euro) takeover for the producer of Foster’s and Peroni.
