JERUSALEM, Feb. 18 (UPI) —
Mortar shells from battles between the Syrian army and anti-government rebels exploded in Israel-occupied Golan Heights Tuesday, an Israeli newspaper reported.
The explosions, near a border fence between Syria and Israel, caused no injuries or damage, the Jerusalem Post said Tuesday, noting the Golan Heights routinely sees periodic fallout from the fighting in Syria.
In August, the Israeli military fired a missile at a Syrian army post after Syrian mortar shells fell in the area.
Earlier Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu visited a Golan Heights field hospital treating Syria’s wounded.
