Dec. 29 (UPI) — Trent Williams, Darnell Washington and Geno Smith were among the NFL players injured in Week 17. Injured players will be evaluated this week to determine potential timelines for return.
Josh Allen, Jordyn Brooks, Chop Robinson, Sauce Gardner and Marvin Harrison Jr. were among other players impacted by injuries in Week 17.
Williams exited after playing just one snap during the San Francisco 49ers’ 42-38 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday in Santa Clara, Calif. Coach Kyle Shanahan said he sustained a hamstring injury and was not sure about the severity of the issue. The 12-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time All-Pro started all 16 of the 49ers’ games this season.
Cornerback Upton Stout (concussion) and defensive lineman Keion White (groin) also exited early during the victory. The Bears lost defensive lineman Joe Tryon Shoyinka (concussion) and linebacker Noah Sewell (ankle).

The 49ers (12-4) will host the Seattle Seahawks (13-3) on Saturday in Santa Clara. The Bears (11-5) will host the Detroit Lions (8-8) on Sunday in Chicago.
Seahawks wide receivers Rashid Shaheed (concussion) and Cody White (groin) were injured during a 27-10 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Panthers coach Dave Canales said tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders sustained a broken ankle in the loss.
The Panthers (8-8) will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9) in Week 18. The winner of that matchup will clinch the NFC South title and the final playoff berth for the conference.
Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean sustained a shoulder injury during a loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday in Miami Gardens, Fla. The Dolphins lost linebackers Jordyn Brooks (hamstring), K.J Britt (groin) and Chop Robinson (concussion).
Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles told reporters that Dean’s shoulder has been “bothering him all year.”
Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said tight end Darnell Washington sustained a broken arm during a 13-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in Cleveland. Washington logged two catches for 15 yards.
The Browns lost tight end Harold Fannin Jr. (groin) and guard Teven Jenkins (concussion) during the victory.
The Steelers (9-7) will host the Baltimore Ravens (8-8) on Sunday in Pittsburgh. The Browns (4-12) will take on the Cincinnati Bengals (6-10) on Sunday in Cincinnati.
Las Vegas Raiders coach Pete Carroll said quarterback Geno Smith sustained a high-ankle sprain in the fourth quarter of a loss to the New York Giants.
Giants safety Jevon Holland sustained a knee injury in the win.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen appeared to aggravate a previous right foot injury during a 13-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Allen, who threw for 262 yards and ran for two touchdowns, was limping during the game, but told reporters his play was not impacted by the issue.
The Bills (11-5) also lost linebacker Terrel Bernard to a calf injury. They will host the New York Jets (3-13) in their regular season finale. The Eagles (11-5) will host the Washington Commanders (4-12).
Jets running back Breece Hall exited with a knee injury during the fourth quarter of a 42-10 loss to the New England Patriots. Hall totaled 111 yards and a score on 14 carries.
Jets coach Aaron Glenn said it was “hard to tell,” when asked about the severity of Hall’s injury. The Jets running back eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards in a season for the first time of his career in Sunday’s loss. He totaled 1,065 yards and four scores on 243 carries through his first 16 starts of 2025.
The Jets also lost defensive back Qwan-tez Stiggers (knee) and running back Isaiah Davis (concussion) during Sunday’s setback.
Indianapolis Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner exited with a calf injury during a 23-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in Indianapolis.
Colts coach Shane Steichen said Gardner’s left calf — which he injured in Week 13 — tightened during the loss.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. sustained a heel injury during a 37-14 loss to the Bengals. The Cardinals also lost safety Kitan Crawford to an ankle injury. Harrison was targeted once and didn’t record a catch in the loss.
Green Bay Packers cornerback Kamal Hadden (ankle) and defensive lineman Jordon Riley (Achilles) sustained season-ending injuries during a 41-24 loss to the Ravens on Saturday in Green Bay, Wis.
New Orleans Saints tight end Jack Stoll sustained a knee injury during a 34-26 win over the Tennessee Titans. The Titans lost cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis (Achilles), wide receiver Van Jefferson (forearm) and linebacker Arden Key (back) during the loss.
The Atlanta Falcons (6-9) will host the Los Angeles Rams (11-4) in the NFL’s Week 17 finale at 8:15 p.m. EST Monday in Atlanta.
