Nov. 7 (UPI) — A Maryland man said a workout at the gym led him to the Powerball ticket that earned him a $150,000 prize in a recent drawing.
The Prince George’s County player told Maryland Lottery officials he was leaving the gym on Oct. 16 when he decided to stop at Keller’s Market on Livingston Road in Accokeek.
He bought some Powerball and Mega Millions tickets before heading home.
The purchase led to his winning a $150,012 prize in the Oct. 18 Powerball drawing.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw the $150,012 pop on the screen,” the winner said. “I called my wife, who was downstairs, because this was unbelievable.”
The winner said he plans to save his prize money for now, but it could lead to a little extra holiday spending.
