Boston Drug Dealer Tries To Use EBT To Bail Himself Out

An arrest report from April 6, 2012 in Boston shows an arrestee, Kimball Clark, was booked for selling heroin. The police report stated:

Once booking was completed and Suspect Clark made his telephone call as allowed, he was heard by Officer Flaherty stating to whom ever he had called ‘GET MY EBT CARD AND GO TO THE ATM AND GET THE MONEY TO BAIL ME OUT, GET ME OUTA HERE TONIGHT.’

Clark also had $758 on his person. EBT cards are Electronic Benefit Cards typically used by states to fulfill commitments under the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). EBT fraud is a common occurrence, although people like State Auditor Suzanne Bump of Massachusetts say that the evidence is only “anecdotal,” as Howie Carr reports.
