As schools across America consider whether to arm teachers or have police officers staff up, one school in Little Falls, New Jersey has decided to do both: their principal is a retired police officer, and the high school wants him to carry a concealed weapon. The principal, Ray Rotella, said, “As a principal you do have a responsibility to do whatever you can to keep your students and staff safe …. You look at some of the school shootings … the time is crucial. These happen very, very quickly.”

Rotella has trained other officers in shooting, and served in the police for 25 years.
