State Objects to Own Interview with Jeantel Being Admitted Into Evidence

Rachel Jeantel, the prosecution’s star witness in the George Zimmerman trial, said on Thursday that she heard Martin say to Zimmerman “get off, get off!” during their confrontation. Not only that – she accused the police of failing to correctly transcribe her initial interview, which says she never told police about Martin saying “get off, get off!” “Trust me,” she said in court today. “They messed up. I could hear” it was Trayvon saying “get off.”

The state just objected to its own interview with Jeantel being entered into evidence to be played for the jury. 

Update: The tape has been played in the courtroom. Local reporters say that it may sound like Jeantel did state on the tape that Martin said “get off.”
