According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, Hillary Clinton’s popularity with the American people is dropping as she has made several public appearances, subtly telegraphing a 2016 presidential candidacy.

Last December, 58% of those surveyed viewed her positively, with 34% “very positive” and 24% “somewhat positive.” Now, the number of those who viewed her positively has dropped to 46%, with the “very positive” answer only held by 22% of voters and the “somewhat positive” group remaining at 24%.

The 22% who view Hillary “very positively” is the lowest number for Clinton since August of 2008, the month when Barack Obama was nominated at the Democratic National Convention. The 21% of those surveyed in the new poll who view her “very negatively” is the highest since the same period of time.
