President Obama took time off from his vacation on Thursday to address the riots in Ferguson, Missouri, which occurred in response to the shooting of Michael Brown.

During his speech, President Obama addressed reports of reporters who were arrested while covering the protest.

Obama called for everyone involved in the situation to “take a step back,” acknowledging that everyone’s “emotions were raw.”

Obama also criticized police forces who were throwing protesters in jail as well as protesters who were using the chaotic situation for violence and vandalism.
