After 379 years as one of America’s premiere institutes of higher learning, Harvard University has now put a total ban on professors having sex with students.

The Cambridge-based University said in a statement that the clarification of rules came as part of a review of its compliance with Title IX policies that prohibits sex discrimination in education.

According to reports, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Committee on Sexual Misconduct Policy and Procedures decided that the school’s language was not strong enough on relationships between those of “unequal status.”

In a statement the university reported, “Therefore, the Committee revised the policy to include a clear prohibition to better accord with these expectations.”

Previous rules only prohibited professors from having sex with students under their direct supervision. New rules state that professors cannot engage in sex with any student attending the famous institution.
