A recent Politico article is pointing to two “embarrassing” technological issues that have apparently hampered Jeb Bush’s budding presidential exploratory campaign.

The two issues in question are the firing of Bush’s tech guy, Ethan Czahor, who was fired after his history of online postings of  ”insensitive comments about women, homosexuals and blacks” was reported on, as well as Bush’s publishing of emails of Floridians that contained their Social Security numbers.

The former Florida governor — already challenged over campaign skills seen as rusty and not put to the test since 2002 — was forced to play defense after the online errors that could have been avoided with more advance preparation. His mistakes also served to resurrect questions over whether Republicans have a deep enough bench of digital and data talent to staff a dozen or more presidential primary campaigns and ultimately match up against what’s expected to be a Hillary Clinton tech juggernaut.-POLITICO

I don’t know if I agree that his campaign skills are challenged, but rather would say that these sort of things happen in political campaigns. How many times has it been reported that an operative or campaign staffer has been busted posting off-color remarks or pictures of themselves on social media, long before he or she was hired by respective campaigns?

Remember when Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s staffer referred to herself and some friends as “Jew bags” on a Facebook picture post?

There is a fair amount of vetting and scrubbing done to the history of candidates and their staff hirings, but not everything can be completely taken off the web.

Bush is the front runner in the 2016 Republican primary race, and will have more than enough money to make all his campaign wrongs go away.
